Melissa serves as director of 30:17 Recovery. She is the first voice you hear on the phone and the first face you see as you walk in. Born and raised in Middle and West Tennessee, she graduated from high school in 1994 and attended college at Jackson State Community College and Freed-Hardeman University. She has worked in many different fields including manufacturing, retail, banking, real estate and higher education. Melissa is a wife, a mother and a grandmother.
Melissa is a follower of Christ and desires to pour out His love on all she encounters. The Lord led her to this mission after losing her job in 2019. She found work at a golf course mowing the outlying rough and doing landscaping in the mornings then, she would mow yards, and cleaning buildings in the afternoon. It was during this season of hardship that God caused her to be still and submit to his plan for her life. A year later she was introduced to the mission of recovery through friends – Dr. Weaver and his wife took a chance on her and the path that God has for her in this season of life was laid before her.
Melissa welcomed the opportunity to work with addicts as she had a close family member in active addiction. This work helped her be able to empathize with her loved one and show her how to pray for her. Melissa’s favorite thing to do is sit and talk with clients about what is going on in their life. She celebrates victories and helps soothe the ache of setbacks. She is always ready and willing to pray with you or simply give you a hug.
If you are ready to make a life change please call Melissa at 731-215-0449. She will take the time to answer any questions you may have about the program.
